Reiki
Sometimes the experience of Reiki is dramatic, bringing up emotions that are suppressed, while for other people, the first session may be uneventful, and the effects are felt after the session. People say they feel better afterward. The most common experience is a warm, tingling feeling and a release of stress and feeling of complete relaxation. Some people may fall asleep and wake with a new sense of awareness, clarity and lightness. Each person differs in how they feel and experience the Reiki energy. This will also continue to change and feel slightly different every time you receive a Reiki session, like when one meditates.
Answer: Typically, a Reiki session lasts 1 – 1 ½ hrs. This can vary depending on the makeup of the session and the practitioner.
Not at all! While many come to receive Reiki for pain, overwhelm, stress, anxiousness, self-confidence, fatigue and many other reasons, Reiki energy has its own intelligence and will flow to where it is needed even if you don’t know. Because of this, it is amazing to receive Reiki healing with no reason or expectations.
Reiki works in the subtle energy field of the body and will continue to work up to 72 hrs. after a treatment session. Rest and light activity are recommended. Pay attention to your thoughts and dreams may be more vivid. Avoid alcohol and non-prescribed drugs prior to your session and 72 hours after receiving Reiki to support detoxification of the body. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and help eliminate toxins assisting with the healing process.
It depends, the Reiki practitioner may have a discussion with you before and after the session to discuss the intention and nature of the session and share what the experience of the session was like afterwards and answer questions. You may talk during a session, but most people enjoy the calming energy and feeling of relaxation during a session.
Reiki is typically performed hands-off and fully clothed and is non-invasive; however, in my lineage of Usui Reiki, we touch the back of the head and the feet. Each practitioner is different, and some may touch other areas of the body, like the knees, shoulders, or arms. A practitioner should never touch the genitals or breasts, and they should never ask you to disrobe.
No! Reiki treatments are a complementary or alternative health approach. Reiki is a safe and non-invasive treatment, and it does not have any known harmful side effects. Reiki does not directly cure diseases or illnesses. Instead, it’s used to manage and improve general well-being which can aid in the healing process. You should always seek medical advice or attention for any physical or mental health concerns or questions you have. Reiki is not intended to replace any doctor-approved treatment plan.
Crustal Chakra Balancing
During the crystal therapy session, you will be invited to lie down, fully clothed. The practitioner will have a conversation with you on what you hope to gain. Crystals may be placed around you to create an energy grid. The therapy is intended to balance your body’s energy centers. The practitioner will place chakra healing stones on the body over the locations where the chakra points are believed to be along the spine from the crown of the head to the base of the spine.
A crystal therapy session often takes about 45-60 minutes, but this depends on your practitioner.
You might experience a sense of feeling much lighter, balanced and more grounded and focused. You may also notice improved mental clarity and emotional calmness and a sense of peace.
By becoming more aware of your mind-body-soul connection and how you feel, you can notice if your chakras are out of balance. Your body is always in a state of constant change, as is the state of your chakras. By paying focused attention to your mind and body you can learn to detect any imbalances. Such imbalances can feel like depression, loss of energy, loss of interest in things you once enjoyed, headaches, anger and aggression, insecurity, loss or increase of appetite, confusion, trouble communicating with others, loss of creativity etc. Once you notice an imbalance, or that a part of your body does not feel right, you can turn to chakra healing crystals to help bring your body and your mind back in balance.
Meditation
Meditation is a journey within yourself where you are an observer of the state of your body, mind and spirit. Meditation is the most natural state of being. The more you practice this, the more you will learn about yourself and achieve transcendence. Anything you do can become meditation once you understand this. There is no right or wrong way to meditate.
There are nine popular types of meditation practice: Mindfulness meditation Spiritual meditation, Concentration meditation, Movement meditation, Mantra meditation, Transcendental meditation, Progressive relaxation, Vipassana meditation (loving kindness), Visual meditation. Not all styles of meditation are suitable for everyone. There are hundreds of ways to meditate. The most important is to try different forms of meditation and find ways that suite you and practice.
Holistic Interior Design
Holistic interior design supports the wellness of the mind, body, and soul of the people that use the space. This approach to interior design aims to restore balance and harmony in all areas of your life by incorporating your psychological, spiritual, and physical well-being into the design of your home’s interior. It’s not just about the way a home looks and functions but also the overall feeling it creates.
Design principles used in holistic interior design include natural elements such as natural lighting, biophilic design (incorporating elements of nature), sustainable and natural materials, plants, color, Feng Shui, color, natural textures, cultural and emotional connection, personalization, energy flow and religious or spiritual elements.
